Understanding before moving on
Pedro checks you really get a section before the next one. You only skip ahead once you’ve shown you know it.
About Coast
Coast was started by two university students, frustrated by teaching that moves at one pace for everyone. Today it’s Pedro: a personal tutor who remembers how you learn.
Our mission
The most effective way to learn has always been one-to-one, with a tutor who knows you. It has also always been a privilege. We want every student on Earth to have one.
How it started
Over the summer, Rio came to Andrea with an idea: something that actually understood how students learn and prepare. Not another generic AI chatbot.
Andrea wasn’t ready to commit. Then September came, a new semester started, and the same cycle repeated: scrambling for material, studying at someone else’s pace, guessing what mattered. Seeing it again, it clicked. This needed to exist.
It began with exam prep. The more we built, the clearer it became that what students were missing wasn’t more material. It was a tutor who knows them: what they’ve already learned, what made it click, and where they get stuck. That became Pedro, and OMA, the memory behind him.
What we believe
Pedro checks you really get a section before the next one. You only skip ahead once you’ve shown you know it.
A tutor gets better the longer they know you. OMA gives Pedro a cognitive profile that grows with every lesson, workshop and conversation.
We’re students too. There is no information advantage more powerful than being the person you’re building for.

Where we’re going
We’re university students, so that’s where we’re starting: it’s the learning we know best and can get every detail right for. But Coast isn’t only for university. It’s a tutor for anyone who wants to understand something, and a tool for the people who teach them.
